Presidential election candidate General Sarath Fonseka stresses that he will not let any threat be posed to the country that was united with much effort.

General Fonseka made this statement when he called on the Mahanayake of the Malwathu Chapter recently.
The Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera, the Mahanayake of the Malwathu Chapter of the Siyam Nikaya raised concerns that a lot of people were suspicious about him reaching an agreement with the TNA which might be detrimental to the country.

When General Sarath Fonseka refuted this claim and said that he has not signed any agreement with any party leader, the Mahanayake requested him to clarify this to the public

Speaking further, General Fonseka said that he had not discussed anything with MP R. Sampanthan that would cause injustice to the people of the south or would affect the country’s territorial integrity or sovereignty.

“We will consider a method which will grant power to the parliament. We have said that solutions must be found in a manner that will not cause injustice to any ethnicity. We have also pledged not to let any harm befall the country.

“We will not let injustice be done to the country. We won’t change those policies. We united and liberated this country with much effort. We won’t let any threats be posed to it. In fact, the leaders of the TNA did not make any unfair demands,” said the General. newsfirst

  1. It is quite obvious from all circumstances that this story of a secret pact between SF and TNA is a fabrication to mislead the masses. It is a pity that senior, mature leaders of the Sandhanaya resort to this kind of mean tactics.

When both parties deny any such pact, how do others know that there is one? Through extra sensory perception?

One is reminded of equally concocted story of Ali-Koti givisuma in 2005.

  2. Why does the two leading parliamentary members of Tamil National Alliance publicly confirming the existence of a secret agreement between TNA and Sarath Fonseka. TNA MP Thangeshwari Kadiraman and MP Sishakthi Ananda have issued a statement confirming that under the agreement, the Tamils will be allowed self-rule by Sarath Fonseka, if elected. TELL US WHO IS LYING. SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT HERE…

    1. JJ,

Just last evening, I saw on the TV Sambandan saying
there is no written pact whatsoever at a public meeting. The audience shouted, ‘repeat’. So, he repeated it.

Are you so childish to think that Tamils in Jaffna
will not get it, in this day and age of technology?

      Come on, JJ, grow up.

  3. I DON’T TRUST TNA. YOU MAY, BUT I DON’T. ENOUGH SAID!TNA HAS ITS OWN AGENDA AND THEY PLAY THESE DOUBLE GAMES ALL THE TIME. SAY ONE THING TO TORNOTO AND LONDON TAMILS ANS SAYS ANOTHER THING TO SINHALEES IN AMPARA.

    1. OMG! Please don’t dodge the issue, whether you trust TNA or not trust.

Are you challenging Sabandhan to repeat the same thing in Tamil in Jaffna? Do you think he can’t do so?

If you think so, is there not something wrong in your thinking faculties?

Don’t trust TNA, if it is to your liking. But clear up your cloudy reasoning faculties without looking a fool to others.
