Government of Sri Lanka has deported a Norwagian NGO head due to involvement with the LTTE. Ranvei Tvetenes, Head of the FORUT (NGO) who was a law unto herself had ordered the removal of the national flag of Sri Lanka that was hoisted by the local staff commemorating the historic victory of the Sri Lankan forces on the 20th of May 2009. It was further revealed that she refused to grant the holiday declared by the President on the occasion.
Another British national of the same organization married to a Sri Lankan Tamil was deported last March on alleged connections with the LTTE and providing misinformation to international media in the theatre of war. An attempt by the said couple to enter Sri Lanka last weekend was foiled by the alert Immigration authorities at Airport. (From Derana News)
